Philipp Strahl works as a Product Engineer for the Terrestrial Laser Scanning product management team, based in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. He contributes to multiple phases of the product lifecycle, supporting early concept development, system requirements, and performance improvements, while collaborating closely with R&D teams, suppliers, and customers. Through regular exchange with geospatial professionals, he helps translate new technologies into practical, market-ready solutions tailored to real-world field conditions.

Strahl holds a bachelor’s degree in Geoinformatics and Land Management from Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden, graduating in May 2022. His academic background includes a strong focus on surveying and reality capture technologies, with his bachelor's thesis examining the accuracy and economic viability of mobile mapping systems compared to terrestrial laser scanning. Before joining Leica Geosystems, he gained hands-on industry experience at BKR Ingenieurbuero GmbH in Germany, progressing from working student and intern positions to a surveying engineer role.
