Dr. Mario Moreno
Mario Moreno is Cadastral Engineer and Geodesist graduated from the Universidad Distrial of Bogotá, Colombia, in 2011. After graduation, he worked for more than nine years in the geoinformation industry in both the public and private sectors, participating in projects related to geodesy, cartography, geospatial analysis, and land administration. He later moved to Germany to pursue advanced studies in satellite geodesy and remote sensing. He obtained both his Master’s degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation (2021) and his Doctorate in Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin (2025). He is currently working as a researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), with a research focus on ionospheric and space weather studies using GNSS-based remote sensing techniques, particularly in the fields of GNSS reflectometry, atmospheric propagation effects, and ionospheric modeling.
