James Van Rens
James Van Rens serves as the Senior Vice President of RIEGL USA, the North American distributor for RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems, a global leader in cutting-edge LiDAR technology. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Van Rens is a well-respected authority in LiDAR and geospatial 3D mapping techniques, frequently sharing his expertise with both professional and lay audiences through extensive lectures. Mr. Van Rens is dedicated to advancing the geospatial community and has held prominent positions, including serving as a former board member of MAPPS and currently as a board member of the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC). He participates actively in the WGIC Policy Committee and has been appointed to the National Geospatial Advisory Committee's 3D Elevation Program subcommittee, where he represents the Private Geospatial Sector. His roles enable him to deepen the understanding of geospatial technology and advocate for the community on pressing industry issues.
