With more than a decade of experience in the geospatial industry, Gian‑Philipp Patri serves as Program Manager MLS and Team Lead for the Mobile Laser Scanning product management team at Hexagon’s Geosystems Scanning & Mapping division. He oversees the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and cross‑functional execution for Hexagon’s portfolio of mobile laser scanning solutions, primarily driven by the Leica BLK product family. Guided by a long‑standing commitment to democratising data capture, he focuses on developing innovative, accessible technologies that bring reality capture capabilities to a broader audience. 

Prior to leading the MLS program, Patri was the Product Manager for the Leica BLK2GO and Leica BLK2GO PULSE, where he helped shape the next generation of handheld and mobile reality capture devices. He initially joined Leica Geosystems in 2015 as an Application Engineer in the Geomatics product management team, contributing to multiple total station product releases. In 2018, he transitioned into the newly formed Reality Capture division, supporting the evolution of the Leica BLK series and playing a key role in enabling surveying‑grade results for non‑surveying professionals. 

Patri holds a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering and a Master of Science in Geomatics Science from the Technical University of Graz, Austria. He further strengthened his leadership and strategic management capabilities through an Executive MBA in Business & IT at the Technical University of Munich in collaboration with the University of St. Gallen, adding a strong business dimension to his deep technical foundation. This unique combination of product, technology, and business expertise positions him to drive both innovation and sustainable value creation in the rapidly evolving field of mobile reality capture.
