Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) have become a key technology for acquiring up-to-date geospatial data in urban environments. In particular, image-based photogrammetry and UAV-borne laser scanning enable the efficient and detailed mapping of buildings, infrastructure, and entire city districts. This presentation provides insights into current approaches for data acquisition, data fusion, and downstream processing, and illustrates through practical examples how point clouds and 3D models can be transformed into actionable geospatial information for digital city models and urban digital twins. The focus is on operational workflows ranging from data capture to final geospatial products, highlighting their added value for everyday tasks in surveying and geoinformation practice.
