Openness and standards – insights, overview and foresight using the example of the city of Landsberg am Lech
Central digital data storage is the decisive basis for access to relevant project data. Standards provide the necessary structure to capture the level of detail, dependencies, and complexity. Visualization allows users with different requirements to understand projects rationally and emotionally. The difference between grabbing and grasping. The presentation will show the complete range of spatial expansion, depth of detail and integration into existing processes and solutions using the practical example of the digital twin* of the city of Landsberg. Directly after the presentation, questions and suggestions are expressly welcome and individual requirements, as well as questions about the solutions shown, can be discussed live at the workplace at the booth.
* As part of the mFUND funding project "TwinCity3D", a geodata-based approach was created as the basis for a digital twin for the application areas of climate protection, mobility and urban planning, especially for small and medium-sized towns without an explicit smart city strategy. In the course of the project, the urban area of Landsberg am Lech was flown several times with an ultralight aircraft. The resulting aerial photo products were evaluated using specially developed AI algorithms. The new system for collecting geodata from the air opens up completely new possibilities for the analysis of urban structures.
The municipal tree cadastre could be supplemented by trees and bushes on private land. The evaluation of the thermal images provides insights into the temperature distribution within the urban area and thus optimizes the analysis of the urban climate. In addition, it was possible to balance the land use of parking traffic and evaluate its distribution between the different types of land. Another focus was on the integration of plans into the virtual 3D city model. For this purpose, an import tool for XPlanGML and IFC files, as well as a LOD2 planning tool were developed and integrated.
