Gaussian Splatting has changed the game for photorealistic rendering, but the real challenge is moving beyond pretty pictures and turning that data into something an engineer can actually use. This presentation explores how we are integrating these high-fidelity models into professional CAD workflows. We will start with a brief look at what makes Gaussian splats unique and why they provide a level of detail that traditional meshes often miss. The presentation shows TerraSplat in action. We will show how this software allows users to visualize georeferenced Gaussian splats directly inside CAD. This shift turns a visual model into a functional design asset that can be used for everything from digital twin creation to precise visual assessment work. To wrap up, the presentation covers the advanced merging capabilities of TerraScan. We will show how to fuse classified LiDAR point clouds with Gaussian splat data covering the same area. This process is a breakthrough for the industry because it allows the splats to inherit the classification and precision of the LiDAR. By adding this semantic layer, users can dynamically hide or show specific objects and perform improved visual analysis. We are effectively moving from a single uniform Gaussian Splat "blob" to an organized, intelligent model ready for serious design work.
